This is a Historical landmark and scenic spot with amazing panoramic views located just 5 miles away from downtown Honolulu. From there you can see the Kailua town, Ko’olau Mountains and Kaneohe Bay. You should also bring a jacket, as the place is very windy! But its beauty and magnificence are worth the special care.

Nuuanu Pali Lookout is also a very historical place because it’s where King Kamehameha’s had some of his most important, epic victories. In 1795 the king forced Oahu’s soldiers up the hills and pushed them off the cliffs. After this battle, Kamehameha finished his conquer and unified the island. There is a legend that says there are still phantom warriors walking through Nuuanu Valley, or that even a hundred years later around 500 human skulls from this battle were found at the mountain.
