Mercedes Sprinter shuttle van at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort entrance on Kalakaua Avenue, Honolulu

Your Trusted Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa Shuttle Service

The drive from Honolulu Airport to the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa keeps going after most other hotels have already been reached. Kalakaua Avenue runs the length of Waikiki, and the Marriott sits near the far end of it — two towers on the block bounded by Kalakaua, Paoakalani and Ohua, across the street from Kuhio Beach and the Queens surf break, with Kapiolani Park a few minutes’ walk in the other direction. Guests choose this end of Waikiki on purpose. It is quieter than the stretch around the Royal Hawaiian Center, closer to the zoo and the aquarium, and it puts the Diamond Head trailhead within reach without a car.

That same position is what makes ground transportation worth planning rather than improvising. A shared van working its way east down Kalakaua reaches this property last. A rideshare quoted at one price before you land is quoted at another once a full flight has emptied into the terminal. And the resort’s own arrival logistics have a wrinkle most Waikiki hotels do not: with two towers and two lobbies, being set down at the wrong one means walking your luggage around the block after nine hours in the air.

Go Waikiki Shuttle has been locally owned and operated in Honolulu since 2008. We are PUC-licensed, we run Mercedes Sprinter vans, and we drive this corner of Waikiki every day. Below you will find how the transfer works from baggage claim to your tower door, what is included, what guests at this property ask most often, and how to book.

HNL to the Diamond Head End of Waikiki: Route and Drive Time

The Waikiki Beach Marriott sits roughly ten miles from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport at 2552 Kalakaua Avenue. Under ordinary conditions the transfer runs about 25 to 35 minutes, and the range is wider than it looks because the last mile matters more than the first eight.

For hotels at the Ewa end of Waikiki, drivers typically come off the H-1 and down Ala Moana Boulevard. For this property, the more efficient approach on a busy afternoon is often to stay on the H-1 through town and come down Kapahulu Avenue, arriving at Kalakaua from the Diamond Head side instead of threading the full length of the strip past the Kalakaua-core hotels. Which one we choose depends on the hour, and our drivers make that call in the moment rather than following a fixed script. Current conditions at the terminal itself are published by the state’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.

Why This Route Favors a Direct Transfer

Shared shuttles that stop at four or five Waikiki hotels almost always reach this end of Kalakaua last, which can add forty minutes to a trip that should take thirty. Our transfers go from the airport to your hotel. For a full comparison of what we run across the island, see our Honolulu airport shuttle service overview.

Meeting Your Driver at Honolulu Airport

Nothing needs to be arranged in advance beyond your reservation. When you land, collect your bags, then call or text (808) 797-7950 from baggage claim. We will tell you exactly where to meet your driver for your terminal, and the van comes to you.

We track incoming flights in real time. A delay, a diversion, or an early arrival does not require a phone call from you and does not trigger a change in what you pay. If you have never flown into HNL before, our Honolulu airport guide walks through the terminal layout, baggage claim, and what the pickup area looks like.

International Arrivals

Travelers arriving on international flights clear customs before reaching baggage claim, which can add time to an already long day. Text us when you are through — the same number works on WhatsApp, which spares you roaming charges before your phone plan sorts itself out.

Kealohilani or Paoakalani: Drop-Off at a Two-Tower Resort

The resort is built as two towers, Kealohilani and Paoakalani, each with its own lobby and its own street frontage on the block between Kalakaua, Paoakalani Avenue and Ohua Avenue. Guests are assigned to one or the other, and the difference matters at 4 p.m. with a stack of luggage and a tired eight-year-old.

Tell Us Your Tower When You Book

Your Marriott confirmation names your tower. Add it to the notes field when you reserve and your driver will bring you to that entrance rather than the one that happens to be easier to pull into. If you are not sure — plenty of guests are not, particularly on a room type that was upgraded after booking — tell your driver when you are picked up and we will sort it out on the way. It costs nothing and saves a walk around the block.

Kalakaua Avenue is one-way through this stretch and the side streets are narrow, so drop-offs here reward drivers who already know the block. Ours do.

Traveling With Family: Car Seats, Luggage and Beach Gear

This is a family resort — two pools, a splash pad, lawn games on the Queensbreak deck — and families arrive with more than they left home with in mind. Our Mercedes Sprinter vans are built for that. The standard rate covers up to two checked bags per person plus carry-on items, with no per-bag charge on the way in or out.

What Needs to Be Mentioned at Booking

Child car seats and booster seats are available for a small additional charge, and the booking form asks which you need so the right one is installed before we reach the terminal. Oversized items — surfboards, golf bags, bicycles — also carry a small additional charge and simply need to be declared in advance so we send a vehicle with the room. Larger parties travelling together can be handled on a private transfer, in a Cadillac SUV, or for groups beyond a single van, through our motor coach service.

Why Most Marriott Guests Never Need a Car

Consider what is within a short walk of 2552 Kalakaua: Kuhio Beach directly across the street, the Waikiki Shell and the bandstand, the Waikiki Aquarium and the Honolulu Zoo at the Kapiolani Park end, and the Ala Wai Golf Course just inland. The Diamond Head State Monument trailhead, managed by the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources, is a short ride away. Guests weighing this end of Kalakaua against other stretches of Waikiki can compare our shuttle service to the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach at the core of the Kuhio and Kalakaua corridor, the Sheraton Waikiki on the Ewa side of the strip, and the Halekulani on Kalia Road, or our shuttle service to Alohilani Resort two blocks along Kalakaua.

The Parking Math

The resort charges for parking on top of its daily resort fee — self-parking and valet are both priced per night, before tax, and a week of either buys a great deal of shave ice. A rental car parked at a Waikiki hotel spends most of its week in a garage. Guests who do want to see the rest of the island for a day usually find a private Oahu circle island tour a better use of the money than seven days of parking. The resort publishes its current fees on the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa website.

Departure Day: Confirming Your Pickup and Timing the Morning Run

Return transfers are booked the same way, and the timing deserves a moment of thought. Mornings at this end of Waikiki funnel onto Kapahulu Avenue and the Ala Wai, and between roughly 7 and 9 a.m. that traffic is real. We build the buffer in rather than asking you to guess at it.

Confirm the Day Before

One step is required of you: call or text (808) 797-7950, or email info@gowaikikishuttle.com, at least one day before your service to confirm the pickup time. It takes a minute and it is what keeps departure morning uneventful. Full booking terms, including our cancellation policy, are set out in our fulfillment policy.

Other Waikiki Hotels We Serve

Coordinating rooms across a few properties, or comparing nearby options? We run the same private, flat-rate transfers to beachfront and central-Waikiki hotels including the Hilton Hawaiian Village, the Halekulani, the Moana Surfrider, the Royal Hawaiian, the Sheraton Waikiki, the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach, the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort, and Alohilani Resort.

Our pickup at the airport was awesome considering that Diego had to wait 45 minutes for the rest of our party to arrive. For our departure, Ray was about 10 minutes earlier than scheduled so we had a pleasant/ unhurried ride to the airport from KoOlina. Considering the cost of car rentals these days, this was an absolute bargain and a very Aloha experience. Will definitely use their services again. Thank you Diego, Ray and rest of the staff.

Was picked up at the Honolulu airport with no delays — easy ride to Waikiki. Thanks for the ride!

Frequently Asked Questions

No. The resort does not operate an airport shuttle for guests, which is why most arriving guests book transportation separately. We provide flat-rate transfers between Honolulu Airport and 2552 Kalakaua Avenue, arriving and departing, with your rate set before you travel. Reserve at gowaikikishuttle.com/reserve-online or call (808) 797-7950.
Whichever one your room is in. The resort has two towers with separate lobbies, and your Marriott confirmation will say which is yours. Add it to the notes when you book and your driver will take you to that entrance. If you are not sure, tell your driver at pickup and we will confirm it on the way in rather than leaving you to walk around the block with your bags.
Usually 25 to 35 minutes for the roughly ten-mile trip. The variation comes from the last mile more than the freeway. Depending on the hour, your driver may come down Ala Moana Boulevard or stay on the H-1 and drop down Kapahulu Avenue, which reaches this end of Kalakaua without passing every hotel on the strip. Late afternoons run longest.
Yes, and most morning arrivals do exactly that. The resort’s bell desk will hold luggage before check-in, so you can drop your bags, change, and be at Kuhio Beach or Kapiolani Park hours before your room is ready. Book your transfer for your actual landing time — there is no benefit to waiting at the airport.
For most guests at this property, yes. The resort charges a nightly parking fee, self-park or valet, on top of its daily resort fee — and that is before the rental itself and fuel. Since Kuhio Beach, the zoo, the aquarium and Kapiolani Park are all walkable from the front door, a rental car at this address spends much of the week in a garage. Roundtrip transfer rates are shown at gowaikikishuttle.com/reserve-online.
Airport transfers are booked to a specific address, so we will take you to the resort. If you want transportation during your stay — a beach day, a dinner reservation, an early Diamond Head start — we run point-to-point service around Oahu as well. Call (808) 797-7950 and we will quote it. From the Marriott, most of the Kapiolani Park attractions are close enough to walk.
Yes. Golf bags, surfboards and bicycles are all carried for a small additional charge, and the only requirement is that you tell us when you book so we send a van with room for them. Ala Wai Golf Course is a short distance inland from the resort, so clubs are a common request on this route. Undeclared oversized items are the one thing that can slow an arrival down.
Collect your bags first, then call or text (808) 797-7950 from baggage claim. We will direct you to the pickup point for your terminal and bring the van to you — no hunting through the garage. Meeting points at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport differ by terminal and occasionally change, which is exactly why we confirm it live rather than printing it on your booking.
Nothing you need to do. We track incoming flights in real time and adjust your pickup automatically, whether you are late or early. There is no delay surcharge and no waiting fee. If your flight is cancelled or rebooked to a different day, call or text (808) 797-7950 so we can move your reservation to the new arrival.
Yes, at a small additional charge. The booking form asks whether you need car seats or boosters and how many, so the correct restraints are installed before we reach the terminal. Hawaii law requires child restraints, and this is a family resort — we install them daily. Please request them at booking rather than on arrival.
Up to two checked bags per person plus carry-on items, at no additional charge, in each direction. Our Mercedes Sprinter vans have the cargo room for it, which is not something every rideshare vehicle can say when a family of five appears at the curb. Oversized items such as surfboards, golf bags and bicycles carry a small additional charge and should be declared when you book.
Yes. Group arrivals to this resort are common — family reunions, weddings and multi-generational trips all land here. Depending on the size we will assign a larger van, multiple vehicles, or a motor coach. Call (808) 797-7950 with your passenger count, luggage volume and arrival times and we will build it around your flights, including parties arriving on separate flights the same day.
Current roundtrip rates for the Waikiki Beach Marriott are shown at gowaikikishuttle.com/reserve-online — select your dates, passenger count and any add-ons and you will see your total before you confirm. It is a flat rate with no surge pricing and no meter. One-way transfers can be booked online at gowaikikishuttle.com/reserve-online/, or call (808) 797-7950 to book by phone.
If you cancel, a 15% processing fee applies and the remainder is refunded. Plans change on vacation and we would rather you tell us than leave a driver waiting. To cancel or reschedule, call or text (808) 797-7950 or email info@gowaikikishuttle.com. Full terms are on our fulfillment policy page.
Yes, and this is the one step we ask of every guest. Call or text (808) 797-7950, or email info@gowaikikishuttle.com, at least one day before your service to confirm the time — for arrivals and departures both. It takes a minute and it is the reason our departure mornings are uneventful. Book your Waikiki Beach Marriott transfer at gowaikikishuttle.com/reserve-online.
